ABILENE: Vincente Gonzales, Jr., 54, of Fort Worth, having recently relocating to Abilene, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 23, 2019.
A Mass will be held at St. Francis, 826 Cottonwood Street, Abilene Texas at 10:00am on January 4, 2020, with Father Isadore Ochiabuto officiating, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home. Following the service, family and friends are welcomed to partake in a meal at St. Francis. Following the meal, a Rosary and memorial service will be held from 1 to 5:00pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home, 502 Kent Ave, Tuscola.
Vincente was born on June 6, 1965 in Ballinger to Vicente O. and Maria Enedina Gonzales. He retired as a chef, but enjoyed many hobbies which included fishing, hunting, traveling and collecting antiques. Vince was also known as the favorite uncle to his many nephews and nieces.
He leaves behind his mother Enedina Gonzales of Abilene; brother David Gonzales of Abilene; sisters, Christina Anne Goodman of Fort Worth, and Irene Atkinson of Tuscola. Additionally, he leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Lisa Goodman, VJ Goodman, Zachary Minjarez, Dominique and Tessla Gonzales, Rachel Garcia, Kayla and Kristan Atkinson, also left to mourn the loss of Vincente are eleven great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
Vincente was preceded in death by his father Vicente O. Gonzales, nephew Arthur Goodman and nieces Nicole Minjarez and Adriana Gonzales.
Vince will be dearly missed by family and friends, his generosity and love for all was an inspiration to everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
