TUSCOLA: Ricky Don Lamb, 55, passed away at his house on Sunday, September 13, 2015. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the pavilion in the Oplin Cemetery, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.
Ricky was born to Roscoe and Joy (Millican) Lamb on October 14, 1959 in Lockhart. He attended school in Abilene receiving his GED while serving in the United States Army.
Ricky spent his last night playing his new guitar. He loved music; he started his day off singing morning gospel hymns and finished the day with songs from classic rock and country. His morning hymns reflected his deep belief in his Lord and Savior, his evening music sessions were spent with his family. It was during these evening sessions that his love for his family was heard. He loved to fish and in his younger year’s golf.
Ricky lived life on the edge; this was reflected in his choice of work of window cleaning. Ricky opened and operated Son-Brite Window Cleaning in Abilene. When he named it Son-Brite, he felt that it put God into his profession. Ricky cleaned any style of windows but had a passion for cleaning high-rise windows, dangling from a rope suspended from the top of the tallest high-rise, this is where he felt the most at home. His most memorable cleaning job Ricky performed was for Texas Tech on the Red Raider stadium.
He is survived by his son, Dusty Lamb of Abilene; brothers, Johnny Lamb and wife Michelle of Abilene, Donny Lamb and wife Stacey of Belton, and Billy Lamb of Tuscola; sister, Brenda Clarkson and husband Billy of Tuscola; and a granddaughter Angel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Lambert (1994) and Judy Griffing (2003).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Services Network 100 Chestnut, Suite 100, Abilene, TX 79602.
