Michael Dale Cook

TUSCOLA: Michael “Mike” Dale Cook, of Tuscola, passed away on February 11, 2021 at age 80. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery at 2:00 pm, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home.

Mike was born to W. O’bed and Modess Cook on July 12, 1940 in Abilene, Texas. Mike grew up with a passion for classic cars and was even known to race a few.  Many people knew Mike from his garage, Cook’s Automotive, in Tuscola.  He prided himself in fair and honest work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He went on to marry Suzette on January 1, 1996 in Tuscola, Texas. Mike and Suzette spent many years trail riding with their close group of friends known as the Horse Fall Valley Riders. They had many adventures on horseback traversing unknown trails, enjoying chuckwagon dinners, and participating in many parades.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William L.J. Cook; his sister, Sherry Cook Williams; and his wife Suzette Cook.

He is survived by his daughters, Destry Cook of Wichita Falls; Brandy and husband Billy Brown of Celina; and Michelle and husband Scott Beaty, of Abilene.  He also is survived by seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Nathan, Christian, Joshua, Seth, William, and Ella.  He also had three great children plus many more that he treated as his own.
