Kenneth Dee Snodgrass, a long-time resident of Tuscola, Texas, went peacefully to be with his Lord in heaven on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Ken was born on September 23, 1934, in Cedar Gap, Texas to John H. Snodgrass and Minnie Belle (Nichols) Snodgrass. As a young man growing up in the country, he learned the value of hard work and family. As an adult, Ken worked for Morrison Supply for 20+ years and obtained his Master Plumber License, Master Electrician License, and AC/Heating License. He served as a Facility Project Manager for Texas Instruments for 14 years. After the TI facility closed, he became a General Contractor, working for J & J Maintenance at Dyess Air Force Base and eventually his own business, S & S Construction.
On March 11, 1988, he married Charlotte Jean Tutt. During their marriage, they enjoyed working on their farm together and the slow pace of farm life. Ken loved working the land, planting and harvesting wheat, hay, and oats for profit and to feed their horses, cattle, and goats.
Ken was a generous giver of his time when helping others. He valued the time spent with family and friends. He loved Snickers bars and fast cars and never met a stranger. Ken couldn't resist a good auction or the opportunity to make a deal. He always had matching belt and boots, starched jeans and shirt, cowboy hat and big smile. His mischievous nature provided lots of laughter for those around him. We will truly miss the man known as Ken, Kenneth Dee, Kenny Boy, Daddy, Papaw, and Uncle Ken.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Minnie; 2 brothers, Ray Snodgrass and Johnie Snodgrass; 3 sisters, Fay (Snodgrass) Kelley, Clara (Snodgrass) Saling, and Rosa Lee (Snodgrass) Kelley. He is survived by his wife, Jean Snodgrass, and 5 children, Keith Snodgrass of Austin, Kevin Snodgrass of Tuscola, Patti (Reid) Davis of Abilene, Jacquey (Alan) Avery of Cedar Hill, Jennifer (Jeff) Jennings of Arlington; grandchildren, Lily Duncan Snodgrass, Constance Spaide, Jordan Standing, Julia Skaife, Gracie Girdner, Jake Davis, Jackson Jennings, 4 1/2 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and multitude of friends.
