ABILENE: Kathryn Gradene Davis, 76, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her house in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday October 18, 2021, in the Potosi Cemetery, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Kathy was born on February 7, 1945, to Grady Othor and Modene (Goodloe) Morrison in Abilene. She attended school in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1963. She married Jeral Davis on May 4, 1963, in Abilene. She attended the Baptist church.
Kathy and Jeral moved to Breckenridge to open Davis Welding Supply company. Kathy was the bookkeeper and Jeral worked the front. They became an inseparable team. After selling their business, Kathy continued to work as the bookkeeper and accountant as Jeral managed several welding supply stores across the area. Her last bookkeeping position was with Hendrick Medical Supply, where she retired.
Kathy was an organizer and insisted upon keeping a clean and tidy house. She also had an artistic side to her and enjoyed painting, photography, and crochet. These hobbies where enhanced by her love for animals, nature, and the outdoors.
She was the matriarch of the family who deeply loved Jeral and her kids, but it was the grandchildren that had her heart. She took great care them and her family.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 58 years Jeral Davis of Abilene; daughter Tina Theriaque and husband Jason of Brownwood; son, Mike Davis, and wife Allison of Flower Mound; grandchildren, Coty, Casey, and Christopher Beauchamp, Stacey Keith, Ashely Mendoza, Taylor and Colton Davis; and five great grandchildren with another on the way. Brother Ken and wife Stacy of Stephenville; and sister Karen Forbes and husband Ocie of San Saba.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
