TUSCOLA: Jay Dane Richburg, 75, passed away at the Big Spring Veterans Hospital in Big Spring on Friday, April 6, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 10:00am in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.
He was born August 09, 1942 in San Antonio to J.C. Richburg and Virgie (Lamb) Richburg. He attended school in Rosco and TSTC in Sweetwater and Waco. He studied computer science and photograph.
He joined the Navy after high school. Upon his separation from the Navy Jay worked for the Santa Clare, CA, Transit Authority driving a bus, after retirement from the transit authority he drove charter bus and cabs.
He loved to ride motorcycles, spending time in Sturges. He was the VFW, and a card-carrying member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife Betty, three sons, Howard, Troy and Matthew Richburg, sisters Rebecca Richburg and Ruth Ellen Hill and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
