Janice Mae (Shepherd) Hays

TUSCOLA: Janice Mae Hays, 57, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at her house in Tuscola. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Elm Creek Baptist Church, Ernie Mclean officiating, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct 22 from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.
Janice was born on November 24, 1956 in Big Spring to Roy and Lavina (Ingram) Shepherd. They moved to Abilene in 1958 where she attended school and graduating from Cooper in 1975. She married Larry Stephen Hays in Abilene. She and Larry moved to Tuscola to raise their son Stephen.
Janice worked for Dr. Appleton, compounding allergy injections. Upon Dr. Appleton retirement, Janice then went to work at Sams Club in the optical department.
Janice love the outdoors, flowers, and caring for her husband’s horse, then with the discovery of Stephen’s sarcoma, Janice immediately went to work taking care of Stephen.
She survived by her husband, of 31 years, Steve of Tuscola; son Stephen and wife to be Kristina Steward of Lawn; sisters, Judy Piercey and husband Harry of Crosby, Cindy Palmer and husband John of San Antonio; aunt Christine Webb of Abilene; uncles Mitchell Ingram of Abilene, John Ingram of Midland; and granddaughter Ellie Nicholle.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lavina Shepherd.
