Gary Lynn Hart ,81, of Lawn TX, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2022 ,in Abilene TX. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20,2022 from 5-7 Pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home, 502 Kent Avenue, Tuscola TX. A funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Lawn Baptist Church with Mark Moore Officiating. Interment will follow at McBee Cemetery.
Gary was born April 8, 1941, in Borger TX to the late Clifford and Edna Joy Hart.
Gary's childhood was spent growing up on the family farm in Breckenridge, TX. Moving to Abilene in 1954 for his high school years, Gary attended Abilene High School where he graduated in 1959. Working at an auto supply house during those years just to help fund his car projects prepared him for his later job at Carpenters Truck Repair beginning around 1960
Gary met and later married Pat Martin on November 3, 1967. Together they moved to Ft. Worth in 1968. Gary soon started computer tech school at National Data Communications. After finishing tech school, they returned to Abilene where he started work at the 1st State Bank. Gary remained in the computer department even as it changed ownership over the years, until he's retirement 31 years later.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Edna Joy Hart; daughter, Ginger Lynette Hart; son, Clinton Wayne Hart; his two sisters, Karen Hart and Janis Hudson.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Martin Hart; daughter, LeRoyce Minyard (Ernest), grandchildren: Jonathan Nieman, Ashlee (Kane), Hanna and Emma Hart, Garrett, Genna, Alex, Aaron, Natalie Minyard. Great grandchildren , Angel, Zariah, Sophia, Brennen. His sister Gayle Hart, sisters-in-law Sharon Kennemur, Gale (Darrell) Wright, Becky Ward, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gary was a friend to almost everyone he met. He was a mechanics mechanic-as he could repair just about any type of automobile or truck. He was a long-time member of Lawn Baptist Church. He was a member of the Big Country 4 Wheel Drive club until it disbanded. We spent many weekends racing our Scout in the shinnery and on the river.
In lieu of flowers. Memorials can be made to Lawn Baptist church or On the Way Home Ministries.
