Frankie Cole

October 18, 1933 — November 21, 2015

LAWN: Frankie Lee Cole Sr., beloved father and friend, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at a local medical facility in Abilene. A funeral service will be held at Lawn Baptist Church in Lawn, at 10:00 am Saturday, November 28, 2015 followed by internment at Dewey Cemetery in Lawn, with full military honors, officiated by Kenneth Jordan, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 27 from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

Frankie was born October 18, 1933 in Fort Worth, to Jesse and Ethel (Simpson) Cole. He graduated from high school in 1955 and later on received his Bachelor of Science from McMurray University.

Shortly after graduating high school, Frankie enrolled into the United States army where he served and attained the rank of Warrant Officer. He served in two combat theaters, Korea and Vietnam. After twenty three years of service, Frankie retired in El Paso. He worked in different retail venues, and as a security guard at First State Bank, then he returned to school for his Bachelors degree.

Frankie met his love, Patsy Handley, in Honolulu, Hawaii and they married on October 12, 1962. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. His passion was in teaching his children about his love and respect for the outdoors. Frankie was known as a very private person and spent lots of time at the Huddle House drinking coffee. He was a member of Lawn Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sons, Frankie Cole Jr. and wife Gwen of Indiana; James Cole and wife Debbie of Burnet; daughters, Jessica Pelican and husband Jerry of Saint Louis, Mo, Tamria Cody and husband Delbert of Tennessee; bother, Kenneth Cole of Seguin, Tx, and sister, Joyce Cole..

He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife of forty four years Patsy Cole (dec. 2006), and brother Charles Cole.
