ATHENS: Frankie Leotia Lee Briggs, 95, passed away on Sunday morning, September 30, 2018 at her daughter’s home. A visitation will be held at 1:00 – 2:15pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Fry~Smith Funeral Home, burial will follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery, Marcy Grun officiating, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.
Frankie was born on September 3, 1923 to William Elisha and Belle (Woosley) Lee.
Frankie retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she worked as an operator. She also owned Midland Metal Products in Midland, TX. She loved to spend time with her family and cook for them. She was noted for her coconut cream pie, with everyone agreeing it was the best.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Little and husband Jeff; granddaughters, Julie Cortez and husband Lawrence, Kelly Smircic and husband Anthony, Kimberly Norton and husband Chris; great-grandsons, Tristen Cortez, Austin McQueen, Dylan Mayberry; nieces, Glena Lane, Edwina Doster; nephew Bill McCauley; and sister in law, Josephine Lee.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Elisha Lee and Belle Woolsey Lee, husband Ernest Briggs, daughter, Audrey Wright, sister, Lona Stuckey, Lilly White, and brothers, DV Lee, William “Bill” Lee, Edwin Lee.
