Dwight "Butch" Clement Albus

Dwight "Butch" Clement Albus, 78, passed away on Sunday May 14, 2023, he was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. A funeral service will be held on May 19, 2023, at 10:00AM in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Buffalo Gap, Steve Joiner officiating, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

Butch was born on October 20, 1944, to Clement Joseph and Loretta Mary (Kuehler) Albus in Knox City. While he was growing up, he was quite an athlete. Playing for Munday's Little League whom held the records for the most home runs for many years, as well as, playing volleyball. He graduated from Rhineland High School in 1963.
He was known for many occupations but best known as General Manager for Parker Implement on Treadaway, before selling tractors, plows, and all thing agriculture he owned Abilene Snax Sales (Tom's Candys) and farmed and ranch under the brand of 5D Ranch.

He married Patricia Ford on April 22, 1995, they celebrated 28 years of marriage in 2023. Pat was often found helping Butch at the implement dealership.
He had a passion for Horse Playdays with his sons at the Taylor County sheriff Posse, The "Boys" Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. He was most proud that he was on the ground floor of the West Texas Fair and Rodeo Committee. He and Pat were appointed lifetime memberships. He was a representative of the Interact Club for Agriculture, and he was a Gold Card Carrying member of the PRCA.

It was his service to the West Texas Fair and Rodeo that made him eligible for The Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame nomination and award for small Rodeo Committees in Texas. This was an honor that the committee brought back to Taylor County and the rodeo.

Butch was survived by his wife Pat Albus, sons Darren Albus of Keller, Dennis and Tina Albus of Haslet, Damon and Donna Albus of Abilene, Glenn and Carolyn Golson of Lawn, Billy and Kathy Golson of Lawn, John and Lesli Marcee of Ovalo. Grandchildren Demi Albus, Dalton Albus all of Georgetown, Michael and Kelly Holmes of Rockwall, Jonathan Holmes of South Korea, Dillon and Michaela Albus of Saginaw, Emilia Richardson of Sweetwater, BreAnna Kash of Hico, Delani and Britton Dukes, Dalli Albus, Dash Albus all of Abilene, Chancey and Barbara Golson of Tuscola, Dani and Wes Wahlert of Lawn, Farryn and Chris Wolsch of Abilene, Cutter Golson of Kansas, Canton Golson of Lawn, Nicole Marcee of Merkel, Vanessa, Alexandra, Knox and Maddox Marcee all of Ovalo. 20 great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters: Jeanie Holt of Hillsboro, Mary Smith of Munday, Valera Hertel of Munday, Richard and Cathy Albus of Munday, Gaylon Albus of Rhineland. Sister-in-Law Kathy Lewis and nephew Joe and Delores of Tuscola. His Godchildren Melissa Vasquez of Round Top and Danny Hertel of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law Jack Holt, Richie Smith, Robert Hertel, daughter-in-law Melody Albus.
