Donald E Ladner Sr left this earth on March 20, 2024 after a short illness. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 5:00-7:00pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, Texas.
He was born on July 15, 1935 in Gulfport, Mississippi to Horace and Florence Ladner. He found the Lord as a teenager and dedicated himself to becoming a preacher. He attended Seminary at Mississippi College and became a Baptist minister. He preached the gospel for 40+ years where Reverend Ladner touched many lives.
Don was married to Margie Bowen on December 22, 1994 in Winters, Texas by friend and Reverend Curtis Morton. Don loved to hunt from a young age, and at 88 was still hoping to go hunting again when he was able. Don is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wesley Ladner and HC Ladner Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Marge Ladner, sister Barbara Lee, son Don Ladner Jr and wife Belinda, daughter Kim Hutchins and husband Hal, step children, Michael Bowen, H.L. Bowen, Stacie Morton, and Yvonne Bowen, grandchildren Joshua and Kayla Hutchins, Bonnie and Landon Stroud, Brianna and Jordan Dickison, Jeff and Mercedes Ladner, Julianna and Shaun McKelvey, Amanda Mosley and husband Al, H. Lee Bowen IV, Mike Bowen Jr and wife Candace, Josh and wife Ragan Bowen, Cody Barron, Chance Morton, Chase Morton, and sixteen great grandchildren.
Papa was loved by all and will be dearly missed. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals On Wheels in Abilene, Texas.
