BUFFALO GAP: Delbert Owen “Dick” Parker, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his house in Buffalo Gap. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.
Dickie was born on June 28, 1940 in Coleman to Randolph and Cleo “Lanham” Parker. He attended school in Abilene and graduated from ACU Campus High School. He then attended the University of Houston and McMurry College.
He married Judy Andree in Abilene and they welcomed their only child Paige a year and half later.
Dickie went to work as the sales manager for Pride Refinery for six years then spent the next 38 years working for Harris Acoustical as their head construction estimator.
Dickie was a jokester with a great sense of humor, he enjoyed wood working, mainly carving, smelting metal and casting, western movies, and his Bible. He was a true craftsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret Frances Parker and her husband Sammy Roy White.
He is survived by his current wife, Jutamus Parker of Buffalo Gap; daughter, Paige Parker of Buffalo Gap; brother, Tommie Parker and wife Patsy of Clyde; nieces, Tanya White Álavarez and husband David of California, Kimberly Parker of Clyde, Holly Parker of Clyde; nephews, Shane Parker and wife Michelle of Lawn, Matthew White, of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Bradley White of Abilene. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins Marian Lanham Johnson of Coleman, Jimmy Lanham of Gatesville.
