Deana Beatrice Newman, 60, lived her entire life in Cedar Gap. She was born to George and Mary (Stewart) Dick on May 23, 1962 at Hendrick in Abilene, TX. She married Jim Newman on January 16, 1981 whom she was with for 42 years. They had two children, James "J.L." Newman and Cheyenne Newman. They then added daughter, Karmen Pippins, to their family in 1988 to complete there small family.
Deana was an accomplished and smart individual who graduated Valedictorian, from both, Jim Ned and later from X-Ray Tech school. She worked for twenty plus years in the medical industry which she loved. She enjoyed playing with her grandkids, reading, traveling with her family, and watching true crime TV in her free time. She was known for treating everyone equally and giving anyone a chance. Deana had a big heart and was loved by many. She loved to laugh and has a very infectious smile that spread to those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, children, son in law Mike Pippins, daughter in law Cynthia Newman, brother Danny Dick and wife, Wanda; brother Frank Dick and wife, Rita; sister Mary Cozby and husband, Jackie; brother Bartley Dick and wife, Cindy; sister-in-law Sharon Dick; and the many people who referred to her as mom. Deana is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Her grandchildren include Michael Pippins, Karsten Offield and husband, Dylan Newman, Skyler Newman, Cayden Newman, Katherine Newman, Matthew Newman, Zephyrus Newman, and Kristofer Newman. She was also a great-grandmother to Cooper Pippins and Camden Offield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Deana was preceded in death by her parents, older brother George Raymond Dick, and many others.
