ABILENE: Brian David Weaver, 52, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, surrounded by family and friends at his home after a lengthy battle with glioblastoma multiforme, also known as GBM, a brain cancer for which there is no cure.
David was born on Monday, May 31, 1965, in Nocona, Texas, where he spent his school career participating in every sport imaginable until his graduation in 1983. He then attended Tarleton State University and then Midwestern State University.
He moved to Abilene in 1988 where he began his 30 year career in the electrical equipment distribution business and retired from Border States Electric in April of 2016 due to the advancing effects of his brain cancer.
David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and just about anything outdoors, but his true passion was spending time with his three kids.
He is survived by his wife Ginger; daughter Brittany; sons T.J. and Tyler; his father Norval Weaver and his wife Shelley; his mother Helen McNew and her husband Dave; his brother Jeff Weaver; his in-laws Farris Neill and his wife Freda; aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws as well as friends he considered to be his family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of Beltway Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm in the foyer before the service, Directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home Tuscola. A celebration of life will follow the service from 4 to 6 pm at the Mcm Elegante Suits.
