TUSCOLA: Curtiss Edward Boatmun, 79, passed away July 4, 2015, with his wife and children by his side. A memorial service, with military honors, will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tuscola United Methodist Church, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Curtiss was born November 12, 1935 in Eufaula, OK to Homer Robert and Martha Ann (Benson) Boatmun. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He married Johnnie Stockton on January 31, 1964 in Tuscola. They had two children, son, Stacy and daughter, Shawna. Curtiss was a diesel mechanic for many years with Corley Wetsel White Trucks. He retired from Abilene Ag Service in 2001.
When Curtiss married Johnnie he had never been on a family farm, it did not take long for him to fall in love with farming. Farming became his hobby, his evening job and his weekend job.
Curtiss was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Johnnie of Tuscola; son, Stacy Boatmun of Tuscola; daughter, Shawna Elieff of Tuscola; granddaughter, Heather Davis and husband Austin of Sherman; grandsons, Cody Lancaster of Houston, and Blake Elieff of Tuscola; one great-grandson Aydien Davis of Sherman; sisters, Marvene Perry of Abilene, and Judy Boatmun.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Samuel Fritz of Eufaula, OK, Jessie Fritz of Abilene, and Charles Partin of Murfreesboro, TN; one sister, Patsy Hayness of Claremore, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
