Praises to our Heavenly Father, our mom, Carey Sue Willis Bush, is singing in her Heavenly home after she peacefully passed away January 3rd, 2021, at the age of 81, in Abilene, at home with her children.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola, with Funeral Services held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 am, First Baptist Church Tuscola. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park; 5750 Highway 277 South.
Carey Sue was born June 29, 1939, in Floydada, Texas to Willard Carey an Annie Jewell Fawver Willis. The family settled in Abilene, where Carey Sue graduated from Abilene High School, then graduated from Cosmetology school.
She married Alva Eugene Bush on June 13, 1959, in Abilene, they were married 49 years and blessed with four children. Carey Sue enjoyed being a licensed cosmetologist; her career began with Frances Salon in Abilene. She was employed at several other salons before her retirement. However, after retirement she still shared her knowledge of cosmetology by substituting for the Abilene High School Cosmetology class.
Carey Sue enjoyed her flowers, spending many a day working in the yard and flower garden, calling family to come see her Sunflowers and Irises. She especially loved her friendship with Madonna Clark, a close friend for over 45 years. A memory she often shared was about their trip to the Kentucky Derby and then another trip to the beaches in Florida. In the last few years Carey Sue made lots of memories with her family.
Carey Sue is survived by sons and her daughter-in-law’s; DeWayne and Cindy Bush of Tuscola; Michael Bush and Sandy Powell of Dallas; Bryan and Mary Bush of San Antonio and one daughter; Carey LeAnne Bush Parsons of Abilene. Seven grandchildren, AJ Bush of Abilene; Jennifer Bush Parramore and spouse Jay of Bradshaw; Sam Bush and spouse Tara of Abilene; Hattie Bush of San Antonio; Gracie Bush of College Station; Dillin Parsons of College Station; and Elle Alstott and spouse David of Minnesota, and one great-granddaughter, Lilah Ann. Two step grandchildren, Tim Moore of Hawaii; and Tara Moore of Fort Worth. Nieces, Lori Grow and her two boys; LuAmy Sloan both of Abilene; and Kendra Fisher and family. Nephews, Lorne Sloan and family of Merkel; Korey Bush and Family. Her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Bush of Azel. With several other cousins, great nieces, and nephews.
Carey Sue is preceded in death by her husband Alva Eugene Bush, her parents, her sister Yvonne Sloan and her husband and two great nephews.
Our family would like to express an extreme expression of gratitude for my mom’s friend Madonna Clark who was her rock for many years. Diann Brooks who helped care for her the last year and a half. Interim Hospice Home Health and Meals on Wheels for the services and care they provided.
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer’s Association Abilene and/or Meals on Wheels Abilene.
The family is requesting to please wear a mask this is to be considerate to the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions.
