Bobie Dean McCoy

Bobie Dean McCoy “Papa” age 85 went to be at peace with his Savior Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
He was born on April 14, 1932, in Hodges Texas to the W. C. "Blue" and Lena Josephine McCoy.
Bobie loved hunting, fishing, watching wrestling, and old westerns. He was known for his deep love for God, his family, and friends. Bobie is remembered fondly as a man who never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. Mr. McCoy loved to tell stores about his life as far back as his childhood. It was through his incredible memory that he would make these stories come alive with detail as he told the of people he knew and the experiences he lived.
Mr. McCoy served in the United States Army as a cook from 1953 to 1955. It was in 1955 he married the love of this life, Dorothy, and they raised a family in Abilene. Mr. McCoy worked as a Machinist for thirty-one years and was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son James “Jamie”, daughter Jeannie, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, six sisters in law and two brothers in law. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 16, 2018, followed by the funeral at 3 pm at Baker Heights Church of Christ with Gregg Knight officiating, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Hodges Texas.
