Billie Marie "Buba" Stockton Wilson died peacefully in Mesa, Arizona May 13, 2016. She is survived by her three sons, Lynn and wife Kay of Ft. Worth, Lloyd and wife Ria of Kelvin, AZ and Les "Duke" Wilson also of Kelvin. She is survived by one sister, Lola Maxwell of Abilene, as well as eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billie Marie was born June 13, 1922, in Buffalo Gap to parents William S. "Bill" and Anna Stockton. She was one of 10 children. Her brothers were Rupert, John, Hugh, Marvin and James Stockton. Her sisters were Lois Self, Alice Jones, Tiny Hallford and Lola Maxwell. Lola is the sole survivor of that family.
Also preceding her in death was daughter-in-law, Billye Andrews and one granddaughter, Tammy Wilson.
She was married to Noel B. Wilson in 1941. They lived a short time in Taylor County. After Noel was discharged from the Army following World War II, they moved to Arizona. There they raised their three sons in Kelvin. Noel died March 30, 2004.
Billie enjoyed reading, painting, crocheting, working cross word puzzles, bird watching and cooking. As her eye sight failed in later years she listened to books on tape, as she snacked on her favorite candy bar, Snickers. She was renowned for the chicken and dumplings she made for family and friends. They were always requested and always a favorite.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Tuscola United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Disabled Veterans, the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity of your choice.
