ABILENE: Betty Bales Holcomb, 76, passed away at Abilene Regional Hospital on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 8:45am. A 3:00pm memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Victory Baptist Church, 4810 Jarman Street in Abilene, David Sims officiating, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.
Betty was born December 26, 1939 in Bonham, to John and Mary Bales. Betty worked in the home health care industry and retired after 25 years of service.
Betty was a loving wife to her husband Del Holcomb, a loving mother, and a loving grandmother. Betty enjoyed painting, working in her yard and garden, but most of all, she enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the people around her.
Betty will be truly missed by family and friends that she leaves behind.
She is survived by her sons, Marc Giles and wife Nettie of Odessa, and Chuck Holcomb of Abilene; one daughter, Kelly Follis and husband Kevin of Ovalo; two sisters, Patsy Yesel of Littlefield, Dorthy Bales of Fort Worth three grandchildren, Timothy Wright of Abilene, Amanda Rasberry of Boise, ID, and Haily Holcomb of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Del Holcomb; brothers, J.C. Bales, Billy Bales, Jimmy Bales, and James Bales.
