Betty Burnett

Betty Melinda Willard Burnett, 55, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her house in Abilene. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 13, 2016 at South Point Church, officiated by Matt Taylor, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm, Friday, August 12, at the Church.
Betty was born on December 8, 1960 in Mt. Airy North Caroline. She spent her early childhood in Mt Airy and the moved to Warwick, Rhode Island, and then back to Mt, Airy before moving to Texas in 1975.
Upon her move to Texas she met her life long partner Tim Burnett, they celebrated the birth of two sons Harley and Davison.
She had a love for caring for the elderly and a love for cooking. she had a long mixed career working as a dietary cook and in nursing homes as an aide.
Betty is survived by her mother, Heidi Cathelene Taylor Willard; sons Harley Burnett and wife Valerie; Davison Burnett and wife Laura; life long partner, Tim Burnett; brothers, Fred Thomas Willard, Jr., Loyd Allen Willard, Alfred Gerdon Willard; sisters Cathy Louise Willard; Zena Sha Willard Johnson, Patricia Ann Willard Golding, Rebeca Lue Willard Pack; and seven grandchldern, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Fred Thomas Willard (2002).
