ABILENE: Barbara Lynn Yancey, 68, suddenly passed away on Thursday, October 8th 2020. A funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00pm, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.
Barbara was born on December 21, 1951, in Waco to Jack Fire and Mary Deloris (Duca) Grimes-Harden. In March 1972 she welcomed her first born son Matthew Ray Foreman followed by Kenneth Dale Foreman in July 1974, and then daughter Valerie Yvonne Foreman in August 1975. She married Jimmy Ray Yancey and lived with love and support for the next 40 years.
Barbara loved her Lord and Savoir, and she loved her job working in the cafeteria at Ortiz Elementary School in Abilene. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, she always had a smile and a hug waiting for them. Barbara's greatest gift was she could "roll with the flow".
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Yancey of Abilene; sons Matt Foreman and wife Lori of Tuscola, Kenneth Foreman and wife Danelle of Winters; daughter Yvonne Clark of Breckenridge; brother Mark Grimes of Conroe; sister, Melissa Grimes of Clifton; grandchildren, Cody Dull and wife Jessica, Casey Dull, Laney Roberts and husband William, Marcus Foreman, Megan minks, Preston Foreman, Nick Foreman, Katherine Clark, Cheyenne Clark, Marie Confer and husband Robert Velasquez, Amanda Confer and husband Justin Ayers, Danial Powers; and eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Jack Grimes and Ruby Toby.
