Arthur Francis Howe

BUFFALO GAP: Arthur Francis Howe, 81, died on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at this home in Buffalo Gap. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery at 10:00am directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Saturday Aug 25, 2018 from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

Art was born in Boston, Massachusets on January 16, 1937 to Raymond Howe of Indiana and Mildred (Long) Howe of Oklahoma City. He married Mary Howe on March 21, 1966. Art and Mary settled in Buffalo Gap where he went to work for the next forty years in the transportation industry driving semi-trucks and she joined the retail industry working for twenty nine year for Dillard's.

Art loved his truck, and driving his John deer tractor. He could often be found tinkering around the house or working on a building project, if he was not found around the house or on his tractor, Art had wandered off to his favorite fishing hole.

Art is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Mary Howe of Buffalo Gap; sons Art and wife Rada Howe of Abilene, Scotty and wife Denise Howe of Abilene; daughters ,Jessica Cheatwood of Purcell, and Frances Clark of Choctaw Oklahoma, sisters, Elizabeth Burke, Mary Parker, and Ruthe Howe. Grandchildren Ashley and Stephen Ausborn, Erika Lewis, Jaime Cormany, Amanda Damman, Christy Votaw, Bobby and Courtney Howe, Britton and Brittney Howe, Justin Howe, Tatum Howe and Jonathon Rodriquez and numerous great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Pamela Zachary (2004).
