ABILENE: Alma Faye Stone Bolen, age 90, passed away November 10, 2014, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Services will be at Tuscola United Methodist Church in Tuscola at 2:30 pm on Thursday November 13th, 2014, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. Visitation will be held in the Tuscola United Methodist Church Family Life center from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. Thursday November 13 .
Alma was born February 5, 1924, in Henrietta Texas to Dawson Stone and Sadie Engledow Stone. She was the oldest of ten children. She attended school at Oscar, Oklahoma through the eighth grade, then graduated from Nocona High School, Nocona, Texas.
Alma worked for Timex in Abilene for many years, then retired from Gerhart Owen Services.
Alma enjoyed craft projects and was a master at embroidery. She liked pretty flowerbeds and was a good cook. She loved to watch sports at all levels and was particularly fond of the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed making holidays fun for children in the family, and she documented all the fun in her scrapbooks. If a party called for games or costumes, Alma always joined in.
She is survived by her daughter Tenna Bolen Yoes and husband Bobby Yoes; sisters Iva Wester and Wanda Enis; brothers Virgil Stone and wife Olga, and R.V. Stone and wife Faynell, and sister-in-law Vernell Polk, plus seventeen nieces and nephews and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dawson and Sadie Stone; her sisters Jerldene Stone and Juvene Stone Cain; her brothers Haven Stone, Billy Stone, and Larry Wayne Stone; a nephew Jimmy Wester, and brothers-in-law Robert Cain, James Wester and Bill Enis.
