Melisa Mae (Statham-McDaris) McKibben

Melisa Mae McKibben passed from this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11:00 at the Perini Chapel in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery with Fry Smith Funeral Home presiding.

Melisa was born on July 2, 1959 in Clovis, New Mexico to Winona McDaris and was then adopted by Wan McDaris.

Melisa made her way to Buffalo Gap in the 90's with her daughter, Sara. She then began attending San Angelo State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree resulting in a long nursing career. Melisa loved helping & taking care of people, which made her an amazing nurse & friend.

She was a listening ear for all, and an easy shoulder to lean on. Melisa loved gossiping with her girlfriends, shopping/antiquing, and going to events her grandchildren were a participant. Melisa had the kindest heart, and was everyone's #1 fan. She never met a stranger, and often introduced herself as "nana" instead of Melisa.

She was proceeded in death by her daughter Sara, sisters Gay & Cindy, mother Winona, and niece Chelsea.

She is survived by her Grandchildren Briana Roe, Carlee Reeves, Rayden Wadley, great grandchildren Beckham & Laken. Son-in-law JP Reeves, brother Matthew McDaris, and niece Stephanie Billings.
